Folks,
Glad to share we will do another gathering.
10 Oct, Monday, 5pm: for VCP holders only.
12 Oct, Wednesday, 5pm: for users (both VCP or non)
As usual, we will have it at VMware office at Suntec.
Trevor Gerdes, security specialist, APAC, will be moderating discussion on the impact of security on virtualisation. He will also demo vShield.
See you folks!

With this blog, I hope to share and make friends with those who are working on VMware products. For a full disclosure, I work for VMware. The blog here is my personal opinion. Anyway, I will focus on pure technical matters, as that's what the geek inside me likes :-)

VMware User Group meetings
Hi,
Finally, we will have our long overdue meetings. And we've listened to the feedback and will do 2 sessions:
24 Aug: only for those who are VCP. This is to respond to VCP holders who have requested in-depth session.
25 Aug: for those who are not yet VCP.
It's at our usual meeting place (VMware office, Suntec City, Tower 4). If registration is closed as the space is limited, drop me an email (e1 at vmware dot com) and we will see what we can do.
Happy learning, sharing and networking.
Cheers!

vSphere 4.1: What's new on ESXi & Availability
I recently did a partner training on vSphere 4.1. The session covers the new features. Focus of the 1 hour session was on ESXi and Availability (HA, FT, etc) and a bit of management.

Manual Sizing
This is a simple spreadsheet I use to collect data for manual sizing/design. It takes into account location (physical data centers), application licensing (normally, Oracle Apps are licenced by CPU and putting them into dedicated cluster helps).

vSphere Design Best Practice
I put together what I learned on design consideration from customers, colleagues, partners and Internet.
You can find it here.
As usual, it's my personal opinion.
Hope you find it useful.
